Welcome to Jia Ho Supermarket, an international grocery treasure tucked away in the heart of Boston's Chinatown. Located at 692 Washington St, and reachable at (617) 338-9788, this hidden gem captures the essence of culinary exploration, offering a wide range of authentic Asian ingredients that can be tough to find elsewhere.
As I wandered through the aisles of Jia Ho, I was immediately struck by the vibrant selection of fresh produce, specialty items, and imported goods. From fragrant teas to fresh fish, this market is a feast for the senses. It may be a smaller space compared to giants like Super 88 or H Mart, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in charm and quality.
Customers rave about their experiences here, with reviews highlighting the affordability and variety of products. Kirsten E. notes, "Found so many hidden gem ingredients I can't get anywhere else," demonstrating that Jia Ho is a go-to destination for both locals and visitors eager to try something new. The supermarket’s vibe is welcoming, and it’s evident that the staff takes pride in providing a friendly shopping experience.
- Exceptional Variety: You'll find everything from Asian vegetables to specialty snacks. It's a one-stop shop for your grocery needs.
- Affordable Prices: Despite its downtown location, prices remain reasonable, making it accessible for everyone.
- Unique Offerings: From frozen dumplings that taste like they are straight from a restaurant to unique noodle varieties, there’s always something fun to try.
David R. describes the experience of discovering Jia Ho as walking into a "tiny alleyway" where every visit unveils new delights. The market’s cleanliness is commendable, especially for a downtown venue in a bustling area like Chinatown. The presence of a $5 card minimum for quick snacks is a small trade-off for the delightful surprises you’ll encounter. Whether you are seeking ingredients for a homemade stir-fry or just dropping by for a refreshing drink, the western charm and eastern flavors coalesce beautifully here.
In conclusion, Jia Ho Supermarket is more than just a grocery store; it is an experience that embodies the spirit of Chinatown. Don't miss the opportunity to explore its aisles on your next visit! Whether you're stocking up for a family meal or hunting for that elusive ingredient, Jia Ho offers a unique blend of accessibility, authenticity, and a hint of adventure. You might just walk away with some delicious culinary creations and a new favorite grocery spot in the city!

Found so many hidden gem ingredients I can't get anywhere else. Fairly reasonably priced for being downtown, always a good vibe! If you're just running in for a drink or a snack, be aware there's a $5 card minimum, but I never have a hard time finding something fun to try.

Love this place and always always come here when I'm in Chinatown. They have a huge selection of quality products for really affordable prices.

They take EBT! Good enough asian grocery store in the middle of the city. Super 88 and hmart are obviously bigger but it's good enough!

This is a hidden gem on a small alley type Street in Boston' Chinatown. I think only the locals that actually live in Chinatown the garbage man and myself use this little tiny alleyway but it is a legal street in Boston. Anyways Jia Ho is in the middle of the alley or the middle of the tiny side street between Beach and Kneeland. You walk downstairs it's basically a basement of a large building. And it's set up pretty much like all the Asian markets with fresh vegetables some fresh fish all imported goods teas etc. i've been frequenting here for the previous 10 years surprised I haven't made a review on this place yet. Today I only picked up a couple items I got some shrimp and pork dumplings they come frozen but you can swear they're the ones that they serve in the restaurants they made in Chinatown and they're fresh and then flash frozen easy to double boil and they come out fabulous just as if you were in a restaurant. I also picked up a little bit of noodle to make like a stirfry with some fried noodle looks like angel hair comes out delicious. Next time you go to Chinatown to indulge at your favorite restaurant take a quick walk around the corner and check this place out you'll probably go home with a bag of imported goodies. As far as cleanliness goes you know it's pretty clean for Chinatown if it was on the outskirts lets say Saugus or Newton it would be dirty but for Chinatown I'm impressed pretty clean. Prices are approximately the same as all the other Asian markets may be a couple dollars more by the time you're filling a bag or two but they are directly downtown and I'm sure the overhead is enormous. FYI don't try to drive here if you're parked and you're going to enjoy a nice dinner I would take a quick pop over to this place but stay in the same parking spot because as anywhere else in Chinatown you need to park in God's on your side. I'm so happy that they've loved me my entire life they take good care of me I always get a spot, unbelievable!! Thank you Chinatown parking God's

Good, fairly small Asian supermarket that has (almost) everything we need. It doesn't have everything or as many options as other stores, but it is the best Asian grocery store in the city.
